I got to spend a few days with my grandma at her home in my home state of Massachusetts. Over the weekend we went on walks throughout the nautical river side neighborhood. The grass in every lawn was beautiful green and with flower beds and on the other side of the road is the Pocasset river lined with sailboats of every size and shape. During this time of year in the spring it not a very busy place because most of the residents live here only during the summer and fall months. There were not many people around, but the river front beach was the busiest place I had seen the whole weekend. Everyone in this close neighborhood knew each other and they immediately recognized my grandmother and made me feel welcome among them. It was a beautiful evening as we watched the sunset together on this perfect little town hidden in the coast of Cape Cod. The next day we went out to the beach and learned how to catch and harvest quahogs from the sand. It was so much fun and something that I never would have expected to be doing. We later prepared them at home into a stuffing and it was a such a fun process that I got to learn from the neighbors I had met.
